Last week the Community Foundation hosted a visit by HRH The Duke of York & HRH Princess Eugenie to Newburn Activity Centre where they heard about the work of the Community Foundation and met some of the fantastic groups that have received funding.
The Duke of York & Princess Eugenie meet Community Foundation Chair Ashley Winter and Chief Executive Rob Williamson.
Following a private presentation, Princess Eugenie met some community groups starting with Them Wifies and learned all about Josephine and the Dream Team.
HealthWORKS Newcastle presented some of the work they are doing around healthy eating and showed off their very tasty beetroot cake.
Next up were Kids Kabin who demonstrated their smoothie making bike, electricity generating bike and mobile potter’s wheel. Princess Eugenie even sampled some of the freshly mixed smoothie!
Newburn Judo Club then showed off some of their best judo moves with the help of coach Joe Laws.
Dilston College showed off their skills, riding specially adapted bikes around the sports hall.
The Duke of York chats to a youngster from Newcastle Westgate FC whilst Princess Eugenie got involved by passing the ball back to one of the players.
Chief Executive Rob Williamson and Chair Ashley Winter bid a fond farewell to the Royal Party.
